I’m excited to share this week’s episode with Ka’imi Fairbairn who is the kicker for the Houston Texans. He is a tremendous athlete and awesome person who has a lot to share when it comes to optimizing your performance. We cover a lot of interesting topics ranging from his strong Hawaii roots to becoming a veteran kicker in the NFL. He shares his valuable experiences from kicking at Punahou to how adversity has helped him to become a better athlete today. We discuss a lot about the mental aspect of kicking, but also how these concepts apply to any athlete looking to perform at higher levels. He shares his wisdom on how he works on improving mental toughness, dealing with failures that come with his profession, and how to work through the “bad” days when things are not going your way. There’s a lot of gems in this podcast that apply not only to sports, but more importantly to life as well.
