This week’s episode is all about stability. Andrew gives the example of all the people out there posting videos of the now- famous “milk crate challenge.” The milk crate challenge is super dangerous and not recommended, but it’s a great example of what happens when the stability is removed from underneath your feet. As you can see if you watch the videos, many people are getting injured from trying this. Yet, it has gone viral, and the popularity of the challenge is what brought the inspiration for this episode, the importance of stability.
In the milk crate challenge, stability is everything, and this can be translated to life, especially when it comes to our bodies. When our bodies are stable, we move and function better, and we prevent injuries. In this episode Andrew covers different examples of the importance of stability in some key areas of the body:
-The scapulae
-The spine & core
If we cannot stabilize the parts of the body that need to be stable, the muscle becomes poor at doing whatever it was intended to do. Andrew uses the milk crate challenge in this episode since so many people have seen it, it can be a great tool for seeing the importance of stability. However, it is not recommended to try the milk crate challenge. It is not worth the risk. Listen in on this episode to get some great insight into the ways bringing stability into your core, spine, and scapulae may help you optimize your performance and level up your life.
