04 Mar Steak Buffet Restaurant Business Plan

Sagebrush Sam'#8217's #8211 “a steak buffet will offer a unique combination: excellent food at a great price, and a friendly, fun atmosphere. Sagebrush Sam’s has the solution to an ever-increasing demand. The public (1) is looking for value in all things it purchases; (2) doesn't accept anything that doesn’t meet its expectations and (3) seeks entertainment through its dining experience.
In today's highly competitive market, it is increasingly difficult to differentiate between restaurant concepts. Sagebrush Sam'8217's is the only buffet that offers USDA-choice sirloin steaks on a mesquite-grilled grill. The steaks will come 21 days old and are prepared fresh daily. Our grill will be open, stocked with the best steaks and prepared to order. With our high dinner volume, there will be no waiting for a steak since we will have the grill stocked with every degree of doneness. No other national chain has tapped this market. With red meat (in particular, steaks) increasing in demand today, we believe that this feature will ensure our success.
This restaurant business plan will be used to raise financing for the initial launch. To begin work on kitchen design, architectural plans and manuals, recipe books, site selection, equipment purchase, and expenses for the first year, financing will be required. Additional financing will be needed for the two additional units in July, Year 2, or January, year 3. Our positive cash flow will help to offset some of this burden.
Sagebrush Sam’'s will be able to open and sustain operations for the first year thanks to the financing as well as the capital contributions of the owners. Sagebrush Sam’’s will provide customers with an enjoyable, value-driven dining experience through the initial capital investment. Customers need a unique, innovative, mid-scale environment to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and to encourage middle America to invite their friends and family to join them for dinner. The company's success through year three will ensure sufficient cash flow for year four.
Objectives
Sagebrush Sam's objectives for the first three years of operation include:
- Growing one unit each year during the first three-years of operation.
- The goal is to keep food costs under 35%.
- Keep employee labor costs between 16-18% of revenue.
- The average annual sales of each location is between 3-4 Million Dollars.
- To keep costs and operations under control, a managing partner/proprietor is needed for each site. Then automated computer/Internet control can be used.
